This story is part of my “Gray Man Suite,” the story of a man who has kept himself removed from life and its passion by strategically deploying pedantry and sarcasm, as well as a twist of emotional violence. in this tale, he comes to a realization of what his exaggerated reserve has cost him and the people around him, and prepares to better himself if he can, late in life.
