“Tell Your Story, Sell Your Story”

"Tell Your Story, Sell Your Story"

Interested in self-publishing? Will you be in Los Angeles on June 9th? Then come on over to Book Show LA, where I’ll be part of a two-hour seminar on the independent-publishing process.

Learn from the mistakes (many) and successes (we’ve had a few) of four self-published authors, including:

  • Richard Risemberg (yes, me, author of The Dust Will Answer and Family Ties) covering post-production: what to do after the first draft but before sending the file to the printer.
  • Toni Jannota, writer and composer of My Little Heart Ruthie, an illustrated poetic parable with music, on the ins and outs of working with collaborators.
  • Jenny Funkmeyer, author of Jump Off the Cliff and many other works on self-actualization, who will speak on events and readings.
  • Alejandro Magallanes, writer of The Legendary Daddy, who will guide you through the complications of marketing.

We won’t sugarcoat any of it; self-publishing is a difficult and uncertain process, but it can be personally and even financially rewarding. It is, moreover, becoming more and more accepted by the mainstream book marketing world, and if you are a writer, you should consider it.

See more details on the flyer reproduced above. (And if you want to help us out, download and print a few copies to pass around!)

So please join us for this free seminar in LA’s Highland Park neighborhood!
