August is making up for its oppressive heat this year by so far showcasing two of my short stories, and it’s only the 4th so far! “The Magic Lamp” came out in Ginosko a couple of days ago, and now a journal called The Thieving Magpie has published “A Long Damn Time.”
I was particularly taken by this as I used to listen rather obsessively to a vinyl record of Rossini’s overture to La Gazza Ladra (“The Thieving Magpie”) when I was a child. I don’t know what associations they have with the Rossini piece, but mine are happy ones, even though I have never seen the opera itself.
