Another story published today: my very short crime tale, “The East Side of Pershing Square,” is available as a free read on Akashic Books’ “Mondays Are Murder” series. One requirement of this series is that the story must be set in an actual place, and so I chose LA’s Pershing Square, or rather one of the surrounding alleys. The Square is being rebuilt, and should feel considerably less threatening soon, but for now it retains its shadowy corners, where anything can happen.
Seven-hundred and fifty words of simple, competent danger…. And unlike coronavirus, it’s not real. Don’t worry.
