A poem, published in Backchannels; it treats of the disconnect between our social, technologize lives and the larger world that sustains us. The stanzas are based on the Japanese tanka, a syllabic (or close ot it, given the different concepts of word formation in our cultures) that is usually a standalone piece in its native language, but which serves me well as an organizing protocol in English.
