My story, “Nobody’s Favorite,” was just published online in The Abstract Elephant Magazine. Yes, you can read it for free in a journal with a peculiar moniker! (The name refers to the old story of the six blind sages and the elephant.)
It’s one of my own favorites, but the philosophy the protagonist expounds to his troubled friend may be difficult for some folks to take. It lies somewhere in the tension between Zen Buddhism and French Existentialism. Lots of good, sharp dialogue, though, so I think you’ll like it.
