My short story, “Profile,” is now available on 34th Parallel magazine’s issue 87, a vivid, graphics-heavy rag that presents a limited selection of stories and poems amid a dazzle of excellent photography–the pictures always pertinent to the written work they nestle and the overall theme of the issue. Excellent, well-crafted work, which you can buy in print or digital versions, and some of which will soon be available (by subscription) on the magazine’s website.
I did have some editorial conflict with them over the opening paragraphs, with which I personally am not entirely happy, but the story works, and works beautifully. It’s a commentary on screen culture and how it sunders us from our loves and our society–and it’s also a love story. Try it out.
