My latest short story to appear is “Howard’s Alley,” in Potato Soup Journal. It’s the story of a man who thinks he knows all there is to know about his friend’s marginal lifestyle, but, in a moment of reluctant charity, learns otherwise. Set in the area around Pershing Square in Los Angeles, and based on some of the people I’ve encountered in my life.
